One of my favorite things in photography is mapping and planning the light and location. After doing some research into Joshua Tree National Park, in Southern California, I knew sunrise at the Cholla Cactus Garden was the one. We woke up bright and early, coincidentally on my birthday morning, and started our journey into the park. We were the first people there so we had time to set up and wait for the sun. I couldn’t have been happier with how this turned out. The perfect birthday present.
